Pranks Not Dead: Check Out Top Auto Brands’ April Fools’ Jokes In Case You Missed Out

Wed, 04/04/2018 - 10:49

Kidding the public on 1 April? Hell, yeah! But who said carmakers don’t have a sense of humor? They bloody do! Well, the automotive brands try their best to fool us with their own insanely funny (or pretty convincing) jokes. We’ve rounded up our best favs from this year’s top automakers’ jokes. Enjoy!

1. This is SPARTA!
Being a truly Great Britain brand with a rich heritage and traditional luxury brand attributes, Aston Martin jokes with typically British take on humor. The AM press release announced Aston Martin Project Sparta, a monstrous truck to add the Monster Jam Series. The big-wheeled truck is reportedly based in the DBX platform and is actually a hybrid. Powered by a naturally-aspirated V12, the truck has also an electric motor to crank out at least 1,000 horsepower.

2. Tesla Goes Bankrupt
A brilliant way to face Tesla’s financial despair is joking about it, as Elon Musk did. He tweeted ‘Tesla Goes Bankrupt. Despite intense efforts to raise money, including a last-ditch mass sale of Easter Eggs, we are sad to report that Tesla has gone completely and totally bankrupt. So bankrupt, you can't believe it’; this tweet was followed by a photo capturing Mr. Musk holding a cardstock saying ‘Bankwupt!’ A nice joke, Elon.

3. Synchronized tea breaks by McLaren
Joking aside, British brands do have unique sense of humor. How about that, McLaren? These kidders filmed their routine workplace activities on order to have us believe it’s boosting efficiency. Synchronized tea breaks and measuring the centre’s lake daily, seriously?

4. Tractor by Porsche? Mission Is Possible with Porsche Mission E Tractor
Porsche got us thinking if the Mission was real. Porsche Mission E Tractor, how do you like the tractor that got some styling cues from Porsche’s tractor models from 50’s and claimed to be the fastest accelerating agricultural tractor in the world unleashing 700 horses? We can’t imagine how happy farmers are!

5. Honda CR-V Roadster
Keep your eyes peeled from fake roadsters! Honda UK marketing department put all the bad stuff to the side and cut the roof off a new CR-V at the pillars trolling Land Rover. As a result, the Honda CR-V Roadster features rather innovative design – or, in other words, tons of custom back-yard tuning style and costs a half price as you’ll get a half of a vehicle. A no-top instead of a drop-top, well, a clever attempt to show us that it’s not all just about selling concepts.

6. BMW Unicorn Parts
Welcome to Forbidden Forest fill with unicorns, powerfully magical creatures! What about rainbow headlights or unique side mirrors, supplied by BMW Unicorn Parts? The special package of optional components includes even a cute horn of the hood – however, only in case your Magical Equestrian BMW is white-painted.
P.S. We are kidding you, sure thing. BMW generated this prank LAST year.
