According to BMW’s electrification plan, two fully-electric competitive models – the X3 crossover and i4 sedan – are getting the green light for production and will arrive by 2020. Known also as the I Vision Dynamics concept, the innovative i4 four-door sedan already made waves at the last year’s Frankfurt Motor Show slotting between the i3 and i8. Now, BMW confirmed first stats to exceed even Tesla offerings.
The midsize i4 EV four-door will benefit from the electric eDrive powertrain; it will roll on a new modular system which underpins diesel, electric and plug-in hybrids on the same platform. Due to it, the sedan will be able to run up to 340-435 miles on a single charge. The new production version stands out with a redesigned kidney grille, LED headlights, full-fledged panoramic sunroof, and smooth surfaces, to hide autopilot sensors.
