Polestar Upgraded XC90 T8 Hybrid to Get Maximum Performance

The official Volvo performance tuner, Polestar, announced the new, improved package for the XC90 T8 PHEV. Codenamed the Polestar Performance Optimization Package, it intends the bold plug-in hybrid Twin Engine SUV to become the most power-packed Volvo ever.  The software package is expected to reach dealers this October.

We are talking about boosting extra torque and power; that means the upcoming T8 hybrid SUV features the 2.0-litre Twin 4-cylinder supercharged engine matched with an electric motor producing 421 ponies along with 501 lb-ft of torque (compared to the previous 400 and 472 correspondingly).

By the way, the tuning division claims such optimization will not compromise the emissions, EV driving range and the model’s fuel consumption. In addition, Polestar has optimized throttle response and improved shifts – as a result, the 0-62 mph time has been dropped to 5.5 seconds from 5.9 seconds, just mind-blowing!  Thed Bjoerk, the winner of Swedish Touring Car Championship, who races for Polestar Cyan Racing, provides support and help to develop this package software.
