That’s How the All-New 2018 BMW X3 Looks Like
Recently, at its plant in Spartanburg, S.C., Bimmer rolled out its third-gen mid-size X3 SUV that is getting even more power and a pack of new features and updates. They say so. Featuring a latter-day platform, the 2018 model year X3 is set to offer modern engines along with advanced, better driving, apart from an M Performance variant, the X3 M40i. What are the latest BMW developments with the X3 (if are)?
Under the hood, a 2.0-liter turbocharged I4 is still a thing. Mated to a standard eight-speed automatic gearbox and AWD, the engine produces up to 248 ponies resulting in 60mph in 6.0 seconds to hit. What’s the scoop? The aforementioned M Performance variant comes with a more sledgehammer 3.0-liter turbocharged I6 delivering 0-60 time in less than 4.6 seconds, with a pretty nice output of 355 horsepower.
Both outside and in, the X3 boasts plenty of smart tidbits and useful pops. In terms of exterior, the model follows the current classical Bimmer design, just a bit sharper, and with an extended by 2.2 inches wheelbase. Add some optional LED lightning, slightly modified tail- and headlights along with a pack of chrome accents, and you’ll get the X3. In other words, it looks rather well-deserved, but there’s nothing extraordinary, though. Inside the car, practice makes permanent. It comes as a no surprise the interior follows the same design, with sporty seats and hex-shaped elements. The model comes with the current 6.0 iDrive system and tons of active and passive safety gadgets and options including ParkNow service, traffic-jam assist or blind spot monitoring.
