“They’d Call Me Spitfire”, Vantage S Could Say
To mark the glorious anniversary of the legendary British Spitfire aircraft fighter, Aston Martin launched a unique special edition model under the same name. The Supermarine Spitfire is considered to be one of the most significant engineering breakthroughs having attained international fame in the course of World War II. Properly speaking, the eight-model V12-powered Vantage S Spitfire 80 has been occasionally released to celebrate a commemorative date of eight decades passing since the iconic fighter first hit the skies.
Will it be strictly limited? It will; Aston Martin Cambridge, which offers this limited-run model exclusively, claimed only eight units of the Spitfire 80 would be built, with the pricing tag of $240,210 (or £180,000 for Cambridge dealership) estimated roughly. Being the brainchild of the British in-house Aston Martin Q division dealing with personalization service, the 565-bhp Spitfire 80 Vantage S is surely all about exclusivity and customization.
Finished in “Duxford Green”, the color named after the Royal Air Force base where the first Supermarine was based, and adorned with sharp, contrasting sunshine yellow pinstripes along with rainbow-hued tailpipe finishers and silver wing-badge, the exterior is intended to resemble an original Spitfire. Inside the model, the personalization Q branch used plenty of treatment having settled the interior in Alcantara and Kestral Tan upholstery, with one-off headrests embroidered and black stitching.
