When it comes to specific Genesis models, Hyundai has been caught up in a luxury brand paradigm to this date.  Going to expand the sales geography to the Middle East and China, Hyundai considers the Genesis family with a custom-made interior and design to occupy the sedan target market. From a long-term perspective, the automotive giant is going to release at least six different models by 2020; the G90 luxury saloon sedan seems to be the first shot.

After its launching in December 2015 at Seoul Motor Show, the all-new Genesis flagship shares its platform with the current Hyundai Genesis featuring the 3.8-litre V6 petrol engine. At Detroit, the G90 is showcased in two different RWD versions; the first distinguishes a twin-turbocharged 3.3-litre V6 power unit while the other high-tech one features 5.0-litre V8 engine. The latter produces 420hp, according to the company’s press release.

Credits to the design team – the G90’s interior seems to look convincingly premium, from the sophisticated material selection like Nappa leather and real wood accents to a refined paint palette. An adaptive control suspension as well as the Hyundai HI-TRAC AWD system should not go unmentioned there. Along with this model, the company plans to release the G70, a sports sedan, and the G80, an executive variant; all the models will run unique powertrains and the same styling by Luke Donckerwolke.
