2018 Mercedes-AMG E63 Topping Out at 603 Horsepower
When dealing with almost unlimited power, the result may be quite impressive, as with the new-gen Mercedes. In the run-up to the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show, the AMG division of the brand has just unveiled two breathtaking E63 and E63 S models claiming it to be the fastest E-class metals ever. Moreover, there is drift mode, guys, yee-haa!
Let’s go in details. Powered by a more efficient 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 (to reduce vibration and noise), paired with twin-scroll turbochargers, the high-performance standard E63 delivers 563 ponies and 553 lb-ft of torque sprinting from 0 to 60mph in 3.4 seconds, with a limited top speed of 155mph. The stunning model boasts an AMG-tuned suspension and a 9-speed MCT automatic gearbox which gets power to all four wheels. In the E63 S, the number of horsepower is a bit higher; the model shows 0-60mph time in 3.3 seconds, with a limited top speed of 186mph.
The breathtaking S model is equipped with V8 engine topping off 7603 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque. When dealing with the S-model 4MATIC, it goes with a special Drift Mode system activated via shift paddles. The long-awaited mode delivers power to the rear wheels, and it sounds like a great deal there, really.
Next month, the eye-popping models will debut in Los Angeles hitting local dealers in the middle of 2017.
