2018 Subaru WRX and WRX STI Get a Host of Upgrades
Good news for Subaru fans! The manufacturer has given a whole pack of performance and styling upgrades to the WRX and WRX STI variants for 2018. Sounds great, doesn’t it? However, engines remain the same, then no more power to the previous Impreza’s performance versions; it comes mostly to styling revisions.
In terms of exterior changes, both the WRX and WRX STI get a more aggressive look, due to the updated front fascia, along with a lower & huger grille as well as a pack of extra black trims. Both models add adaptive LED headlights, restyled 19-inch wheels and roof rack mounting brackets. There are additional revisions in the interior too; both models come with a larger 5.9-inch multi-function screen in the instrument panel, new door grips, better door sealing along with thicker glass, to reduce the noise outside. Under the skin, the WRX 268-hp model features the same 2.0-litre flat-four engine, with the suspension retuned and the gearbox improved. As for the 305-hp WRX STI, the model comes with the 2.5-liter H4 power unit and six-speed manual transmission. Upgraded AWD system is considered to be the most significant revision there.
