A 462-hp Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Is All About Fuel-Saving Now
At the forthcoming Paris Motor Show, Porsche is set to unveil its 2018 hybridized Panamera 4. This mint newcomer will save as much fuel as it could using a much more powerful 2.9-litre Twin-turbo V6 mated to an electric motor and all-wheel-drive. Surely, it promises to appear cool to drive, too.
The previous S E-Hybrid version was equipped with a 3.0-litre supercharged V6, with the total output of 325 lb-ft of torque and 333hp. The upcoming 4E-Hybrid boasts 462 ponies (V6 makes 330hp and the electric motor makes 136 hp correspondingly) and 516 lb-ft of torque (332 and 295 lb-ft correspondingly) powered through an eight-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic transmission. The Panamera hits 0-60mph in about 4.4 seconds topping out at 172 miles per hour. To put that into perspective, the previous S E-Hybrid laid down sprinting from 0-60mph in 5.2 seconds, on to a 167mph top speed.
In the forthcoming Panamera, the carmaker introduces a 14.1-kWh lithium-ion battery for 31 miles electric range when the battery is full-charged that can be achieved in around 6 hours. For comparison, the previous model featured 22 miles electric range only. As for the interior, the newcomer features a 12.3-inch touchscreen, and last but not least – most of the menu buttons have been replaced with touch-sensitive panels to enhance driving efficiency.
