After the new brilliant 570GT model being sparklingly unveiled at Geneva this week, to-the-edge performance carmaker ensures also the Sport Series Spider would for real appear in 2017. Furthermore, McLaren announces at least £ 1 billion solid investment in the area of development over a next six-years period. The British iconic automaker launches a new forward-thinking long-term plan codenamed “Track 22” to put its current model range on an all-electric hybrid footing recognizing the importance of fuel and CO2 sustainable consumption for the hybrid versions.

The perspective transformation aims to run hybrid technology about the Ultimate Series model, first of all. At least half of the model range is expected to become hybrids by 2022, according to the words of Mike Flewitt, the carmaker’s CEO. Flewitt also confirmed the launch of 15 all-new promising models in the range of the current McLaren families (it comes to the Ultimate Series, Super Series as well as Sports Series) along with the principally new engine architecture to be unveiled within the “Track 22” plan.
