Acura Dropped Refreshed 2018 RLX Sedan
A new design language along with upgraded cabin touchpoints, three premium-new colors and a host of tech goodies, in such a way Acura has dropped the new luxury 2018 RLX ahead of its official debut at Monterey. The refreshed sedan faces no powertrain changes, though, packing actually just a new face instead.
Acura is going to offer two RLX variants, the base 310hp front-wheel-drive RLX and a 3.5L V6 combined to a 10-speed automatic gearbox, and the RLX Sport Hybrid. The latter, sitting atop the carmaker’s sedan range, drives all four wheels and comes with a 3-motor hybrid powertrain with Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (Acura used the similar system in the NSX model) equipped with the same 3.5L direct-injected V6 to put out 377hp.
Among the exterior changes, styling fresh goodies include a well-pronounced sculpted hood, the new diamond pentagon grille, a gloss black rear diffuser and restyled wheels, not to mention tons of LED lightning, especially on the front end. Among the latest tech equipment, the new models benefit from Traffic Jam Assist, AcuraWatch suite, a high-class Krell Sound System, a heated steering wheel along with heated seats.
