Ahead of Frankfurt: 2017 Ford Ranger Pickup Dropping Chrome
De-chromed look and blacked out makeover – the Blue Oval has revealed the magnificent pure-black special edition to debut at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show. Designed for European drive only, the Black Edition Ranger pickup truck will be built with a double-cab body style only, with a limited amount of 2,500 units, promising to be the great seller.
Based on the Limited Series trim, the Special Version pickup features the de-chromed body finished in unique Absolute Black color; the model receives the all-black alloy wheels, rollover bars and blackened out dramatic grille that makes an appearance. In terms of mechanics, no significant upgrades are still reported, but that would well be the case two diesel options will be likely provided, mated to either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. No engine choices are yet confirmed; it may be assumed that a flagship 200hp 3.2L five-cylinder for those wanting faster driving, or an entry-level 130hp 2.2L four-cylinder version will be a choice. The Blue Oval puts emphasis on a wide range of standard equipment available including satellite navigation, SYNC 3 multimedia system, dual-zone climate control, back-view camera and heated door mirrors.
