Aston Martin Boasts about Its New Convertible, Vanquish S Volante
Aston Martin has just shown us how the convertible version of the Vanquish S will look like. Codenamed Volante, it will deliver 580 horsepower at 7,000rpm topping out at 201mph and sprinting 0-62 time in 3.5 seconds. In brief, it’s pretty hot and all that.
The hard-top of the model, the Vanquish S coupe, was unveiled at the belated LA Auto Show. Like its fixed-top twin, the convertible version features some body changes to increase downforce. There are carbon fiber body panels, suspension sharpened up and some latter-day aerodynamic elements. Non-turbo: the awesome grand-tourer is powered by a 5.9-liter V12 paired with an 8-speed ZF transmission (improved to deliver quicker shifts) with awesome throttle response. Both convertible and coupe show stoppers will hit dealers in this April; the coupe will start at $294,950 while the S Volante convertible is expected to start at $315,775 at least. Plenty
of personalization options including premium Bang & Olufson stereo, Apple CarPlay or 20-inch alloy wheels add to the price.
