BMW Promises Two Updates to the Lineup
What’s the power of electric city car, BMW Group is on the way to explain, having announced two latest additions to the lineup, the 2018 BMW i3 along with the i3s performance model. Both being compact and featuring refined urban design, the revised versions for the 2018 model year are expected to debut in their full feather at the forthcoming Frankfurt Motor Show.
The 2018 i3 facelift gets – after a mild update – better handling, due to a modified traction control system, and redesigned exterior. For the 2018 model year, buyers could get two bright metallic paint options, Imperial Blue and Melbourne Red. Not to mention better steering control via the driver assistance systems, Traffic Jam Assistant and Parking Assistant aimed to keep the 170-hp vehicle in lane, too.
The 2018 i3s is a more powerful as well as a sportier i3 version that looks definitely more aggressive with wider light-alloy wheels and massive front and rear bumpers. Putting out 184hp, it has the Sport driving mode and updated drive system to provide a higher 100mph top speed and to arrive 0-60mph in 6.8 seconds.
Both models benefit from the 33 kWh lithium-ion battery, BMW developed, providing a range up to 186 miles totally.
