Cash to Splash: Bentley & Purdey Shown Off Ultra-Luxury Bentayga Field Sports
Bentley teamed up Purdey, the world-known luxury shotgun manufacturer, to co-build another one-off deluxe vehicle for deep-pocketed hunters, the Bentley Bentayga Field Sports by Mulliner. Aimed further to expand the Bentley’s ‘outdoor activities’ ultimate lineup, including the Bentayga Falconry and Fly Fishing, the hunting-focused Field Sports Edition is still powered by a 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged W12 that delivers 600hp and 664 pound-feet of torque, along with a multi-mode air suspension. As a result, the Bentayga can hit 62mph in impressive 4.1 seconds offering a top speed of 187mph. What’s the point of even coming to hunting, I wonder?
As the refined crossover was deeply customized for hunting, it comes with an additional storage unit made of aluminum and leather that contains some useful shooting accessories. There’s also an exquisite humidor for storing cigars, a locking case for premium post-hunt alcohol, and an additional leather-trimmed case between the rear seats for a pair of shotguns. However, those loyal customers who want an exclusive Purdey gun may have wait as the guns could take up to two years to be handcrafted. Instead, clients may opt an upscale Purdey bag including a field coat, shoes, gaiters, a waterproof cape, and even an overnight bag – i.e. some extra ammunition to go hunting day or night. Add a whopping $229,000 price tag, because it is a Bentley, you know.
