Dubai Welcomes the 755-HP Chevrolet Corvette ZR1
Ahead of the Dubai Motor Show, Chevrolet unveiled its fresh brainchild, the fabulous Corvette ZR1 at a special event. In several days, the 755-hp model will make its global premiere after numerous teasers, leaks and spy shots. Boasting completely new ultra-aggressive front bodywork, significantly improved – at last, God! – cooling and the wildest, colossal (optional, though) rear wing, the ZR1 will get two interior packages, 1ZR and 3ZR, along with the craziest Sebring Orange package. Especially to those who are fond of juicy orange, the sporty-inspired package will include matching stitching, brake calipers, leather-trimmed seats, seatbelts and the refined bronze-shaded interior trim.
Aerodynamic changes have also been made, so the package gets a curb weight of 3,650 pounds. Under the large exposed carbon fiber hood, the fourth-generation ZR1 continues with GM’s 6.2-liter V8 in the new LT5 supercharged edition, along with an intercooled 2.65-liter Eaton supercharger, rated at bombastic 715 lb-ft of torque and 755 horsepower. Customers will get a choice of seven-speed manual or a much-awaited eight-speed automatic transmission. However, even boosting a top speed of more than 210mph, the ZR1 still fares worse than the Corvette Z06.
