An updated 2016 QX50 model aimed for the USA automotive market was showcased by Infinity at the New York Auto Show. The new QX features a much longer wheelbase and a spacious cabin, sharing the platform with the latest Infinity QX30 debuted concept.

The previously based crossover model, EX35, launched by Infinity in 2007; the company comes back to the vehicle having slightly refreshed its look. Rear and front fascias, an extended wheelbase (designed to save extra 4.3 inches of leg space for rear seat passengers and extra 2.7 cubic feet for cargo room), new LED daytime running lights as well as fog lights are restyled to follow the look of the Infinity Q50 concept crossover. The whole lineup was simplified, so the 2016 QX50 model range consists of just two model variants, the QX50 RWD and QX50 AWD, with a Premium Plus optional package for this year. 

2016 QX50 features a keyless start, a moonroof, a rear-view camera, satellite radio and Bluetooth connect, all-leathered trim and 18-inch alloy wheels, with satellite navigation, a Bose audio system and wooden inserts optionally. Infinity increases a level of safety offering Blind Spot Warning System, Lane Departure Warning as well as Active Cruise Control. The engine comes in a 3.7-liter V6 variant with 325hp and seven-speed automatic transmission producing 267 pound-feet of torque. The pricing tag starts at $36,000.
