Facelifted 2019 Ford Edge Gets a 238-HP Turbodiesel
Refreshed 2019 Ford Edge is set to reveal its new look in Europe. Already offered in the U.S. market, the Blue Oval has renewed a range of specs for the Edge’s European debut in Geneva, and then BOOM! Now the 2019 Ford Edge gets a new bi-turbo diesel, a new eight-speed automatic transmission aimed to replace the older six-speed one, and a new safety kit. And be sure, a host of freakin’ awesome styling tweaks is also included.
So well, at the top of the range now a new diesel setup of a 238-hp 2.0-litre EcoBlue bi-turbo TDCi diesel engine alongside with more efficient single-turbo EcoBlue delivering 150hp or 190ph correspondingly. The less-powered version comes mated to a FWD and an eight-speed self-shifter, while the higher powered one features AWD and a manual six-speed stick shift.
A choice of four trim levels, three engines and two transmissions is in fact good, but an additional safety kit including the most advanced driver assistance technologies like adaptive cruise control, evasive steering assist system and post-collision braking system is much better. The Blue Oval didn’t forget to take care of inner comfort: the 2019 Ford Edge boasts a premium-class B&O sound system, a full-length panoramic glass roof and an 8-inch SYNC3 touchscreen infotainment.
