Ferrari 599-based Kode57, a Stunning Beauty for Mayweather
Speaking about limited edition cars, it should be mentioned that often, engineers as well as designers prove themselves in the full force getting to serve up some craziest models. As usual, these beauties tend to be nightmarishly expensive due to their exclusivity. Unveiled recently at the 2016 Monterey Car Week, California, the 700-bhp Kode57 supercar has been instantly called “bizarre” because of its strange, uncommon reverse-opening doors. Sharing the chassis and powertrain with a Ferrari 599 GTB, this one-off two-seater barchetta is powered by a 6.0-litre V12 engine, tuned by Novitec Rosso, and is believed to be strictly exclusive. Only 5 units would be built, said the designer.
Designed by Ken Okuyama, the ex-Pininfarina leading designer, famous for the Ferrari Enzo, Maseratti Quatroporte and Boxster creation, the bespoke Kode57 barchetta was first intended to debut as a concept model only. However, it is rumored that Floyd Mayweather, the world-known American boxer, has ordered the first production model with the eye-watering $2.5M price tag. Three other models, according to Okuyama, have already been sold in Japan. Does money burn a hole in your pocket? Then, just a single one left.
The Kode57 is now shocking fans at the Quail.
