Ferrari SP38 Turning Heads at the Villa d’Este
Most loyal customers always win, Ferrari says. For this customers’ category, Maranello revealed its latest brainchild, a stunning track- and road-going car, dubbed the SP38. Being based on the 488 GTB, this bespoke model is something everyone would like to see or even opt for – if you have enough money.
When putting this one-off creation together, the Prancing Horse said it took inspiration from the F40. However, riding on top of that is completely new body. The SP38 wrapped in a three-layer metallic red paint finish, features a more aggressive front, but an extremely poor rear visibility. It keeps underneath the 488 GTB’s running gear along with chassis, and a 3.9-liter biturbo V8 that churns out 561 lb-ft of torque and 661 horses. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Surely, the interior is promised to be bespoke.
It is the magic of Ferrari. It invites you to drive on levels you haven’t driven yet.
