Ford Revealed the Carbon-Fiber Competition Series, More Lightweight
Unveiling a Competition Series package for the fabulous GT model, Ford claims it to be the most track-focused GT version ever. And here is why: a dry weight is reported to be 3054 pounds giving an immense potential for performance. Such smart equipment as gloss carbon fiber wheels with titanium lugnuts and a titanium exhaust system is aimed to cut the weight from the upper model’s part and to increase aerodynamics. Thoughtfully designed.
The twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 still remains unchanged, making 55- lb-ft of torque at 5900rpm and delivering 747 ponies to the aero-optimized track-focused beastie. It is enough to provide the supercar a max top speed of 216mph. The carmaker also gets out of cup holders, storage bins and the air conditioning system, to reduce a trim mass. Along with these modifications, the model adds a Perspex cover for the engine hatch with a manual latch and unique carbon fiber console. Six eye-catching paint choices including Liquid Grey and Frozen White will be available. Unfortunately, the model will be limited as only 250 units per year are expected to be produced. Hell with that luxury, all hail the performance!
