Hennessey Unveiled Its Freaking Awesome 1600-HP Venom F5 at SEMA
As promised, Hennessey Special Vehicles unveiled its first street legal production car, the limited-edition bespoke Venom F5 at the current SEMA in Las Vegas. Aimed to replace the Venom GT, the new much-awaited hypercar is slated to put out a cool 1,600 horsepower hitting a top ‘can-you-believe-it’ speed of 310mph. The Texas-made rear-wheel-drive monster features a carbon-fiber sleek body, avalanching Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, and an adjustable rear spoiler to enhance peak speed and to provide a 0.33 drag coefficient.
In addition to a GPS-based traction control system and a seven-speed paddle-shift transmission, Hennessey adds a 7.4-liter twin-turbo aluminum V8 rated at 1,300 lb-ft of torque and a brand-new lightweight mid-engine chassis built from the scratch, if compared to the previous Lotus-based Venom GT. Just 24 unique units with an astonishing $1.6 M pricing tag to be built, and John Hennessey himself is going to hand-pick all the customers. What’s your take on that, Bugatti?
