Here’s What Audi Introduces in Detroit – the 2018 SQ5
At the 2017 Detroit Auto Show, Audi delivers the long-awaited compact crossover with sports car specs. The 2018 SQ5 is expected to hit automotive markets in this year’ spring, however, pricing still remains yet unannounced.
The all-new high-performance midsize SUV will deliver 354 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque via a 3.0-liter turbocharged engine mated to standard all-wheel-drive and an eight-speed automatic tiptronic transmission. The “S” sport package will be available along with adaptive air suspension. According to the Audi’s press release, acceleration time makes just 5.1 seconds, with a top speed electronically limited to 155mph. Inside the car, there’s a full pool of high-tech options including the 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit display, MMI touch infotainment system with 4G LTE and WiFi support, or adaptive cruise control along with pedestrian detection system. Add improved performance, a sportier interior, better fuel economy (though a diesel version is still not available) and a new driving dynamic system, and you get a perfect red car.
