How To Train Your Night Fury? McLaren Knows the Answer
During the current Beijing Auto Show, McLaren unveiled its latest brainchild, the 2018 McLaren 570GT Cabbeen Collection supercar. The limited-run edition blends whimsically a strait British design with exotic Chinese art elements. Dragons, uhmh – what an unbelievable chariot for the Mother of Dragons!
McLaren Special Operations teamed up Mr. Cabbeen, a Chinese fashion designer, to build a series of five models, dubbed ‘The Cabbeen Collection’, so the 570GT is considered to be the first shot fired for the presentation. The collection is expected to be available globally; pricing has yet to be unveiled.
Featuring the deep ‘Obsidian Black’ paint scheme, the 570GT stands out from the crowd with unique 15-inch ‘Speedline Gold’ wheels, brake calipers and hand-painted – glossy gold too – dragons on the doors. The theme of fantastic dragon motifs continues inside the vehicle adorning the rear luggage deck and the center console; motifs are stitched in Chao, a specific Chinese embroidery style, and hand-made by Kang Huifang, the Director of the Professional Embroidery Committee of China’s Arts and Crafts. Mechanically, the chassis and engine specs remain unchanged.
