It’s Cargo Van, and It’s – Bingo! – Diesel, Finally!
Nissan revealed its new project, and what’s to say, it’s totally cool. Codenamed the Nissan NV Cargo X, the latest one-of-a-kind off-roader is a kick ass cargo van, a hard-core and capable to tackle some definitely rough terrains.
Powered by a 5.0-liter Cummins diesel V8, which is paired to FWD and a six-speed automatic transmission, it clearly puts out 555 pound-feet of torque and 310 ponies. The engine is actually borrowed from the Titan XD truck, along with the drivetrain and transmission. In terms of the body, the cargo van borrows its platform and frame from a stock NV 2500 HD model riding on 37-inch General Grabber (surely off-road) tires and being 7.5-feet tall. Then, the design team wrapped the body in a sniptious black-and-white paint dress, added some custom LED lights, a tough steel-tube bumper and a skid plate. Inside, the Cargo X features an onboard compressed air system, a tool bag, a portable welder, high-lift jack and magnetic door stoppers.
