Let the Race Begin: Lexus Will Introduce its RC F GT3 to Debut at Daytona
Lexus GAZOO Racing will unveil its production model-based luxury concept to enter customer motorsports. According to Koei Saga, TGR chief officer, the latest Lexus racer is a high-performance version of the RC F coupe, in the GT3 category, to encapsulate the highest level of customer racing. The racecar is equipped with an improved V8 engine delivering 540 horsepower. Two race series, one in the U.S., one if Japan, will wait for the new Lexus Gazoo Racing’ brainchild, the 2018 RC F.
The RC F GT3 is expected to make its world debut at the iconic 24 Hours of Daytona in the end of this month, on January 29th. The racecar will compete in GTD category rivaling with such racing monsters like Acura NSX, Ferrari 488 GTB, Mercedes AMG GT and Lamborghini Huracan. The automaker also confirmed the racer’s participation in the legendary Super GT Series with the LM Corsa Team to compete in GT300 category.
