Lightness in Turquiose: Say Hello to Facelifted Elise Cup 250
Lotus has just revealed the latest facelifted Elise Cup 250 in mint blue shade. Becoming even lighter, this version drops to 1,895 pounds attaining a dry weight of 1,948 pounds with the lightweight package, due to active use of aluminum and carbon fiber for such components like exhaust or forged wheels. Unfortunately, this mint version won’t be hitting U.S. dealers.
The lightweight Lotus Elise Cup 250 is considered to be the fastest ever four-cylinder model yet. The lightened chassis mated to a 1.8-liter supercharged inline-four engine producing 243bhp (and tearing thus the mightier Evora 400 apart) along with a six-speed manual transmission. Propelling 60mph in 3.9 seconds, it works up a top speed of 154mph. Keeping the Elise Cup 250 planted, there’s tons of aero there, like a rear wing, a front splitter or the titanium exhaust. Price is the only total frustration: the Elise Cup will cost from £47,400.
