Lucid Motors Startup Promises to Build Its EV Factory Next Year
We know Lucid Motors, a California automaker, is working on its own all-electric vehicle, which is announced to hit the streets in 2018 competing with Tesla. Dubbed the Atvus, this pure-electric luxury sedan (on the screenshots) is considered to be the first EV prototype by Lucid Motors startup. Two Alpha EV prototypes have been shown off at the event; first this EV was unveiled at the Los Angeles Motor Show this month. Now the company announces the production of such game-changing EVs in Arizona in the nearest future.
It comes to at least 2,000 jobs by 2020 to create along with 20,000 high-end vehicles to build in the first production years. Supposedly, this new go-electric sedan will boast 1,000 horsepower and a 400-miles range. Equipped with an electric powertrain and 87kWh-battery pack, this Alpha EV features 0-60mph acceleration time of around 3 seconds.
