This week appears to be rather generous in giving us some promising releases. The new compact Volvo-based SUV stands out among other vehicles to kick off the automotive markets. Codenamed the 01, this brand-new SUV is considered to set up a high-potential Lynk lineup that includes four challenging models, among them are a crossover, a sedan and a hatch. These vehicles are expected to grow in the next five years, by 2021.
The Swedish Volvo’s CMA platform underpins the Geely’s compact 01 SUV. This platform is designed to share some high tech-savvy features so no wonder this Lynk & Co. SUV is believed to be the most connected model ever built utilizing an open-digital basis. Due to this platform, the AWD SUV is powered by a 1.5-litre unit or a 2.0-litre four cylinder engine paired with a dual-clutch transmission as this Volvo’s platform allows a wide range of hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains for the products.
No full details have been revealed, but we know the 01 will boast a rich set of safety options, an impressive panoramic roof along with wireless charging ability. According to Geely’s press release, the model will hit Chinese sales markets in a year, in 2017.
