Maserati Attemps to Convert You to the Dark Side in New York
Maserati reveals the power of the Dark Side at the 2017 NAIAS with its latest special edition Ghibli sedan. Dubbed the “Nerissimo (it means “extremely black”) Black Edition”, this blacked-out trim package is expected to be ultra-limited. Only 450 units will go out into the world equipped with it. In addition, the Nerissimo will be offered in the U.S. and Canada only, starting at $78,500 as Ghibli, $85,200 as Ghibli S, and $87,750 as Ghibli S Q4 model. Additionally, Maserati promises two all-new packages for 2017 (it comes to Sport and Luxury) packing with plenty of driving options.
The Black Edition speaks for itself; lots of blacked-out styling cues and design tidbits, including 20-inch gloss black wheels, the same-color window trim, door handles and the massive grille. Inside the car, Dark Mirror interior trim follows the main theme playing with a black leather interior with red gearshift paddles and contrast red stitching. Each model features a numbered badge.
Under the hood, it comes equipped with a Ferrari-built twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The base Ghibli delivers 345 horses; the S and S Q4 turn to 404 horses, respectively.
