Meet 2018 Dodge Durango SRT at the Chicago Auto Show
Fast & Furious, that’s we can say about this powerful beast. Looking aggressively, this three-row SRT variant of Dodge SUV is expected to be wrapped off in its full glory at the forthcoming Chicago Auto Show. And that’s exactly what Dodge stands for to reign up in the three-row segment.
The family hauler packs a naturally aspirated 6.4-liter Hemi V8 engine producing 475 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque (the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT produces the same ones). The powertrain is paired with the familiar TorqueFlight eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel-drive system, a stiffer suspension and adaptive dampers. Just a family vehicle, they say. This “family monster” offers seven driving modes (including Eco, Sport, Snow, Street, Track, Tow and Valet) and takes just 4.4 seconds to do 0-60mph. Being a full-size SUV, the Durango SRT can tow 8,600 pounds and runs a quarter mile in 12.9 seconds which is a certified NHRA number. Let’s wait for the Chicago event to get a top speed and the rest of specs.
