A Museum Caimano Concept Featured at Bremen Motor Show
Old-timers appear sometimes a kind of those things to be ahead of its time. The revolutionary Caimano concept that had been rather a cutting-edge iconic model when unveiled in 1971; however, it still looks quite futuristic today. The attendees of 2016 Bremen Motor Show could see it for themselves.
A pointed nose and harsh outlines of the Caimano reflect the extreme design automotive tends of the 1970s. The point is that this model has never been built in the production version. Alfa Romeo decided just to try out a radical concept design for a two-door coupe. The one-off coupe of its time, the show car shared the chassis architecture with the Alfasud and represented the ground-breaking range concept featuring a spacious room inside and streamline low-fronted aerodynamics outside the vehicle. The Caimano design, projected by Italdesign, is still believed to be one of the most innovative and path-breaking technical solutions, with the cylindrical dashboard and a forward-opening glass cockpit. The Caimano is been kept in the “Time Machine” Alfa Romeo Museum today.
