New Volvo V60 Getting Drop-Dead Gorgeous
New Volvos are those of the best-looking cars in the market today, so no wonder the stunning 2019 Volvo V60 wagon is yet another fine example of well-designed practicality on the road. Volvo seems to be completely serious about redesigning the look of brand-new V60 with high-tech drivetrains, a new SPA (Scalable Product Architecture) platform and the latest version of Volvo’s City Safety potential collision avoidance system with automatic braking. Wouldn’t it cool?
The premium mid-size wagon offers now two plug-in hybrid powertrain options (actually, six powertrains will be offered – two diesel engines, the D3 and D4, along with two petrol engines, the T5 and T6, and two plug-in offerings). The T5 sends power to front wheels and uses a 2.0-litre biturbo four-cylinder engine that delivers 250 ponies while the T6 utilizes a 2.0-litre supercharged inline-four engine to send 310 horsepower to all four wheels. Both versions employ an eight-speed automatic transmission. The plug-in hybrids utilize the T6 and T8 Twin Engine AWD setups – i.e. a 2.0-litre inline-four mated to a 65-kilowatt electric motor – to offer 340hp and 390hp correspondingly, with a total electric driving range of 28 miles.
The V60 is expected to make its debut in full glory at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. A full list of specs as well as pricing is yet to be confirmed.
