A One-of-a-kind Custom-Designed Sonic Civic Makes Waves at Comic-Con
Extremely weird and kinky – such a Honda concept visitors of 2016 San Diego Comic-Con could see at this year’s event. The automotive industry is actually full of weird designers’ creations, so odd motor concepts are already old hat for the day. However, this concept beats the lot being something really special. Well, what is it like?
First of all, it is a celebratory concept car calling to mark the 25th anniversary of the iconic video game character, Sonic the Hedgehog. Honda partnered SEGA to debut here, at Comic-Con, with a leading industry top-seller, custom-designed to reflect the goal. The cool concept was immediately called “the Sonic Civic” as the customized car shares the platform with the Touring Civic sedan encapsulating the Sonic’s world with an azure bespoke-painted vinyl wrap. This Honda Sonic t is mainly all about artistic design as the design team by Fox Marketing Cars has not modified to performance as well as the engine. The latter still remains a 1.5-litre Turbocharged four-cylinder power unit.
Custom tires and wheels are available in two colors, flame red and bright gold, to mirror Sonic’s shoes and golden rings in the games. As for the interior, there are no shots inside the car, sad to say; however, the custom interior descriptively includes sea-blue Katzkin leather seats with celebratory “25th Anniversary” logos embroidered. The main distinctive feature is considered to be its premium audio equipment featuring two 500-watt 10-inch subwoofers alongside with the visual floor-mounted 32-inch system for old-school classic games’ fans.
