Ready for Racing: Citroen Revealed C3 WRC Hatchback
Well, it looks like Citroen feels definitely high-spirited as well as optimistic about its comeback to the racing world. CR has just revealed its latest concept, the C3 WRC hot hatch to rival with VW, Toyota and Ford in the 2017 FIA World Rally Championship. The C3-based concept will be displayed at the forthcoming Paris Motor Show in October. Teaming up with ScanLab Projects, Citroen produced a short movie at Rally Portugal to promote the concept before the event.
Before its finalizing, the ultra-sporty concept resembles significantly the previous WRC car in appearance, with typically rallying design, but being a bit longer and lighter. Compared to last year’s forerunner, the C3 WRC is 55 lbs. lighter and almost 2 inches longer due to an immense rear spoiler and a front splitter to improve aerodynamics. The chassis is 55mm larger too. At its heart, the 380-hp hatchback boasts a 1.6-litre Turbo four-cylinder engine. The C3 WRC challenger is expected to play in the Monte Carlo Rally in early 2017.
