A Rush for Gold With Bentley Mulsanne
On the floor of Palexpo, Bentley showcases the Mulsanne Speed, a facelifted flagship of Bentley’s lineup. Luxuriously goldish, it is believed to be a focus of all attention at Geneva. As a matter of fact, the British carmaker rolls on the full Mulsanne family here, with updated versions of exquisite Mulsanne, revised performance-focused Mulsanne Speed, all-new Mulsanne Extended Wheelbase along with the ultimate Grand Limousine by Mulliner.
Well, what’s the scoop for the 2017 Speed model? Like the rest of the range, it has been exteriorly refreshed. The Speed boasts the new taillights, a modified front end with a wider grille, revised bumper and bonnet. When entering a car, you are catching an improved interior at once, with refined diamond quilted leather seats, an upgraded 8-inch touch screen and some hi-tech adds.
Since 2014, when the Mulsanne debuted at Paris Motor Show, the model has eventually obtained a sportier appearance and cutting-edge tech features to beat a market. For, at least, performance market: it is still heavily performance-focused. Powered by a 6.75-litre twin-Turbo V8 engine, delivering 530hp, the 2017 Mulsanne Speed smashes down 0-60mhp time with impressive 4.8 seconds accelerating a top speed of 190mph – pretty monstrous for such a heavy-weight!
