A Song of Black Fire: BMW Announces X5 M, X6 M to Launch in August
Two drastically ass-kicking SUVs have been announced by Bavarian giant. Coming in late summer, BMW teases its hearted fans with two over-the-top whilst extremely dramatic special models underpinning X5 M and X6 M crossovers. Dubbed the Black Fire Edition, the models get even more exclusive look with the unique Sapphire Black Metallic shade of black paint for the blacked-out trim. Back in black, BMW?
The special Black Fire package rolls on a set of forged staggered M alloy 21-inch wheels finished also in the same black hue; it includes carbon-fibre mirror caps and M-badged double kidney grille. The premium-quality interior is a place where things get a bit racier. The steering wheel is wrapped with M Performance Alcantara leather to enhance driving dynamics. All-electric full-featured seats are finished in Red-and-Black Murino leather, along with Piano Black leather upholstery. In addition, deep-pocketed buyers will get unique logos on the dash.
Almost nothing has been changed to models’ engine, though. Power still comes from the same ‘old-but-gold’ twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 mated to an eight-speed M Steptronic automatic gearbox. The Black Fire models produce a top performance of 575bhp boasting 0-60mph time of about 3.8 seconds.
