Toyota GR HV Sports Concept Is Set to Debut in Tokyo
Exclusively for targa fans, Toyota is ready to unveil its racing hybrid 86 version, the GR HV Sports Concept, at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show. To make driving slightly easier, the carmaker adds a removable targa roof, a hybrid system that underpins the Gazoo Racing TS050 Hybrid WEC model, the famous Le Mans prototype, but with rear-wheel drive. This two-deater is sporty, and it’s front-engined – this way you can get a good performance.
The specs remain a secret, though, but the model features an unusual six-speed automatic gearbox with a manual H-pattern shifter, then, you can get a manual mode without any clutch. Power is sent to the rear wheels, with the battery packed in the middle and the engine mounted in the front. In terms of exterior, the matte black paint choice along with a head-turning diffuser in the back and a pack of LED lights in the front should not go unmentioned. The new, ambitious prototype is announced to be unveiled as a part of the long-awaited Toyota’s GR Performance Line – thrilling stuff, we guess!
