Volkswagen Teases with its New T-Roc SUV to Debut in August
As first images of the new VW’s compact SUV, the T-Roc, leaked on the internet, Volkswagen had to show off its official teaser video revealing the surprisingly sporty model with chunky design and rather modern interior. Riding on the same MGB platform as the Golf, expectedly, the compact SUV will sit below the famous Tiguan in the lineup. Aimed to rival in its segment with such models as Audi Q2, Seat Ateca or Kia Stonic, the T-Roc is aimed to target rather young customers, with a huge assortment of smart technology add-ons including Android Auto or Apple Car Play connectivity.
In terms of powertrain, the T-Roc will likely underpin the Gold powered by a 1.0L turbo petrol engine producing up to 110hp. For higher trims, the more hard-hitting 1.5L turbo petrol engines are awaited to be used, but using a diesel engine is still a question – the Dieselgate scandal, you see, and the fallout has been too hard so far.
The SUV is expected to debut on August, 23.
