Wraps to Come Off: 2019 BMW M2 Competition Officially Revealed
More torque, more horses – and it will coming this summer! A 2019 BMW M2 Competition is the sweet spot in the range – a little lovely thing with an amazing performance boost. Leaked ahead of the 2018 Beijing Motor Show in China, one of the hottest M2 is a real 174-mph attacker keeping focus on performance. Aimed to replace its forerunner, the 2018 BMW M2 Coupe, the baby M2 stills follows the same body along with RWD and transmission, but it carries some extra torque and boosts.
There’s great news in terms of transmission, by the way: you can get the M2 Competition with a manual (woo!) as it will be offered with the standard six-speed manual or the seven-speed M DCT dual-clutch (optional). If a choice of the latter would be made, the M2 gets the mode selector along with the Drivelogic functions. There’s also a host of chassis modifications to add extra power. The M2 comes equipped with a 3.0-liter biturbo inline-six making 405 horses while torque peaks at 406 lb-ft of torque; mated to a manual gearbox, it will hit from a standstill to 60mph in 4.2 sec while an M DCT box will cut 0.2 sec off from the time.
