2019 Mercedes-Benz G-Class Boasts A Redesigned Interior
For 2019 model year, the redesigned G-Wagen is set to wrap its interior off. The new G-Class SUV is expected to make its world debut at the 2018 NAIAS in Detroit next January, so with more cargo space, the updated – and more luxurious, sure! – cabin, the modified ladder-frame chassis and the wider wheelbase, off-roading will be cooler than ever. And tons of options to be individualized, starting from seven trim choices to 24 exterior paint schemes. Nice.
In terms of the powertrain, the G-Wagen will come with a 4.0-liter biturbo AMG-sourced V8 that is good for 415 horses. However, Mercedes adds a turbodiesel – a straight-six and a four-cylinder one – for better fuel optimization. Pocket the manual transmission – the G-Wagen will boast a nine-speed automatic gearbox. A full list of specs is yet to be revealed, though.
On the inside, the interior is getting cleaner and more comfortable. The new model adds almost 6 extra inches to its overall measures, with more legroom to rear passengers. Functionality is top-of-mind, with two different dash displays, three differential locks and a new B-pillar-mounted ‘Schökl proven’ badge. And the cupholders, absolutely stunning!
