Ford Makes Extensive Plans for the Near Future

Recently, Ford announced its high-flying plans for the future concerning the crossover production and sales. The car maker is going to move the subcompact crossover building from the Chennai plant, India, to Craiova, Romania. It particularly concerns to the EcoSport model; Ford intends to invest heavily in the Craiova factory which has been at the moment producing the EcoBoost engines along with the B-Max minivans. Total new financing available for investment in this area may come to € 200 million. 

Last year, the top results of SUV sales were definitely amazing, so Ford makes extensive plans for at least 200, 000 SUV units to sale for the European market. Therefore, the expected sales are to increase to 30 per cent concerning the compact SUV segment. According to the words of Jim Farley, Ford Europe executive president, it could hardly be a better time to move the production facilities to Europe to meet consumers’ demand. Moreover, the Chennai plant will work on the crossover production including but not limited the domestic market.
