Here It Is: the Trans Am 455 Super Duty Drags its Debut at 2017 NAIAS
Unlikely as it may seem, a muscle car can deliver 1,000 horses, how do you like it? Proved by Trans Am Worlwide which unveiled its high-powered 1,000-hp (and even more powerful one) Trans Am 455 Super Duty at the current NAIAS. Equipped with a premium NASCAR 7.4-liter V8 engine, it can offer 1,000hp and 1,046 lb-ft of torque having floored the 2018 Challenger SRT Demon (the latter offers 840-hp) in terms of performance.
Underpinning the sixth-gen Chevvy Camaro and the Alpha chassis, the heavy-duty Trans Am has faced the significant redesign. Taking the main styling cues from the 1970’s Pontiac Trans Am, it features such redesigned exterior tidbits like special taillights and custom fascia grilles, not to mention plenty of upgraded carbon fiber body panels. Besides that, the tuned exterior boasts Trans Am-inspired graphics, an anti-roll bar package along with 20-inch 10-spoke Crawler Race wheels with unique Michelin Pilot Sport tires. Under the hood, power comes from a 7.4-liter LT1 V8 engine running together with 2.3-liter Magnuson supercharger and an improved exhaust system.
It is announced the muscle car will be ultra-limited as only 50 units are scheduled to be built.
