Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulet Will Be Unveiled at Geneva
Expected to be a pickup, the new Maybach-badged G-class open-top model will debut at the 2017 Geneva Auto Show. Called the G650 Landaulet (the word means a car with a roof which can be folded over the rear seats), it is considered to be Maybach’s first off-roader, AMG V12-biturbo convertible. Taking ultimate luxury on a higher level, even when dealing with off-roaders, Mercedes tributes to the original all-terrain model which has been produced since 1979. Unfortunately, this SUV won’t hit U.S. dealers.
The carmaker claims it to be the most exclusive and one-off form of ravishing open-top motoring. Surely, as only 99 units are scheduled to be built, with pricing expected to be exorbital (the latter hasn’t still been announced). Power comes from a 6.0-liter biturbo V12 which produces 630bhp and 738 pound feet of torque using, meanwhile, a four-wheel-drive system. The list of premium equipment features includes two 10-inch high-resolution entertainment screens, luxurious S-Class rear seats with a massage function, folding tables and a glass partition to separate the driver’s seat from the rear.
