General Motors technology is dead, Opel seems to say, and long live Peugeot IT. The next-gen Corsa, Opel’s top-seller, that is scheduled to be launched in 2019, will be underpinned by the new PSA technology which is something else entirely.
According to Opel’s previous statements, the 2019 Opel Corsa would be built with GM tech. However, in order to increase sales margin, Opel decided to change the point by using Peugeot platform instead walking away from GM at once. The corresponding report was respectively confirmed by an Opel spokesman. What would be the result? Well, then, it would eventually result in charging of at least five PSA-underpinning vehicles to be launched by 2023. Corsa has just started the ball rolling.
