Too Fiery: Meet Pista, The New Ferrari’s Track Killer, In Detail
Several leaked shots of the long-awaited coming Ferrari referred as ‘A New Sport Series V8’ have almost certainly revealed its name and performance. Dubbed the 488 Pista (in Italian, it means ‘track’), the newly minted track-focused killer will apparently boast a massive front splitter, a much more aggressive rear diffuser and thrillin’ 721 horsepower. Detailed specs and a full arrival are expected to be revealed at this year’s Geneva Motor Show.
According to the Instagram screenshots (rather blurry, indeed,) the total weight of the model is down considerably. The Pista features a dry weight of 2,821 pounds in order to increase aerodynamic efficiency significantly (up to rumoured 20%). It can be stated that the 488 Pista will get a set of carbonfibre body and interior parts (note, e.g., the carbonfibre floor instead of mats) and we can be sure that the bonnet, 20-inch wheels and the rear spoiler are made of lightweight material to shave further weight as well. For this reason, the Pista is expected to top out at 211mph sprinting 0-62mph in frenzied 2.8 seconds.
